LOS ANGELES, CA — August 13, 2026
Businesses using Securence for email filtering or hosted mailboxes have a hard deadline. MailRoute replaces both.
US Internet has notified Securence customers that it is retiring all Securence services on November 11, 2026. That shutdown covers both halves of what Securence provided: inbound email filtering and hosted POP/IMAP mailboxes. Customers on either service need a new provider in place before that date, or their mail stops moving. The retirement schedule is published in the Securence migration FAQ.
MailRoute Replaces Both Halves of the Service
MailRoute has provided hosted email filtering since 2003. The company replaces both pieces of the Securence service: MailRoute Email Security Services is the filter that sits in front of a mail server, and MailRoute Hosted Mail is the replacement for customers who had Securence hosting their mailboxes directly.
For organizations that use Securence to filter Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace rather than a self-hosted mail server, the migration is the same in practice — a single MX record change, with nothing else in the mail environment affected.
"This is a forced migration with a fixed deadline, not a decision customers get to defer," said Thomas A. Johnson, founder and CEO of MailRoute. "The technical work is small. The risk is running out of time to do it."
No Billing Until the Shutdown Date
To remove the cost of overlapping during the transition, MailRoute will not bill former Securence customers until November 11, 2026 — the date Securence service ends. Customers switching before then are not paying two vendors for the same coverage.
Full migration details, including what MailRoute does not replace, are available on the Securence alternative migration guide.
About MailRoute
MailRoute has provided hosted email filtering since 2003, protecting inbound and outbound mail for organizations running their own mail servers as well as those on Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. MailRoute Hosted Mail adds fully hosted IMAP mailboxes with the same filtering included rather than sold separately.
