MailRoute

Protected in 5 minutes. Seriously.

No hardware to install. No software to deploy. No agents on your endpoints. One DNS change and every inbound message is filtered before it touches your server.

Three steps. Five minutes.

From signup to full protection, the entire process takes one DNS change. Here’s how it works.

1

Sign up & add your domain

Create your account and add your domain (about two minutes). Free for 30 days, no credit card. We auto-detect your MX records so you know exactly what to change.

2

Update your MX records

Point your MX records to MailRoute. We give you the exact values to paste into your DNS provider. No guessing, no ambiguity. Changes propagate in minutes with zero downtime.

3

You’re protected

MailRoute filters every inbound message before it reaches your server. Quarantine reports show what was blocked, and users can release false positives themselves without opening a ticket.

Migration in minutes, not weeks

The setup wizard walks you through inbound server configuration and the exact MX records to paste into your DNS provider.

No professional services engagement and no multi-week project. Pricing is published and the trial is self-serve, so you start today instead of waiting on quotes and discovery calls. The average customer is filtering production mail in under thirty minutes.

You’ll see exactly what’s configured

The Diagnostics page checks your complete setup (mail servers, MX record, IP lockdown, outbound relay, and email authentication) and shows you at a glance what’s working and what still needs attention. No guesswork.

Under the hood

Every message passes through five filtering layers before delivery. Each layer catches what the previous one missed. Here’s the full pipeline.

1

IP Reputation & Threat Intelligence

Block known bad senders before the message even arrives.

2

Newly Registered Domain (NRD) Blocking

Treat brand-new domains with suspicion: most exist only to send phishing.

3

AI-Powered Content Analysis

Read the message the way a person would, and catch the tricks signature tools miss.

4

Virus Scanning

Scan every attachment with multiple antivirus engines before it reaches you.

5

Delivery & Continuity

Deliver clean mail securely, and hold it safely if your server goes down.

You control the threshold

You set the SpamScore threshold. Messages at or above go to quarantine, everything below gets delivered. The default works for most organizations; dial it tighter or looser to match your tolerance.

Your users handle their own quarantine

Every day, MailRoute sends users a digest of what’s been held. One click to recover a false positive. No IT ticket. No password required.

Users who want more control can log into the quarantine portal to browse held messages by category (spam, virus, banned files) and release or permanently allow senders directly. You set the guardrails; they handle the exceptions.

Search every message, in real time

Every message MailRoute handles is logged the moment it happens. Search by sender, recipient, subject, or date and see exactly what was delivered, quarantined, or rejected — with the SpamScore and full headers behind every decision. Export to CSV when you need a paper trail.

It’s the first thing resellers and larger IT teams reach for: when a user swears a message never arrived, you have the answer in seconds instead of guessing.

Works with everything you already use

MailRoute sits in front of your mail server as an inbound gateway. It works with any SMTP-compatible system, with deeper integrations for the major platforms.

The service has been extremely reliable and has evolved steadily to counter new spam and malware threats. We moved operations to Google Apps, but MailRoute remains a key component of our layered protection.
