Adaptive blacklists, GreyListing, rules-based content filtering - we combine a number of different spam-fighting techniques into one integrated service. We'll quarantine and/or tag the spam and keep your inbox free from all that junk.
Most people update their anti-virus dat files once a week or maybe once a day. MailRoute updates them every 5 minutes. We take every message apart, uncompress, unzip, un-anything the contents of every email, and run every little piece through our AV scanners. And if we find anything, we destory the message - long before it even enters your network. Keep all the bad stuff outside your network - it's the safest thing to do.
Don't worry if your mailserver goes down or is under maintenance. We've got your back. Our Store and Forward service holds your email until the server is back up and running, and then delivers it in the most efficient way possible. No more bouncing email due to momentary problems or glitches!

I have 40 people, but I must have 200 email accounts, with all the aliases and mailing lists. How much do I pay?
We charge for the number of people who use the service, not for aliases, distribution or mailing lists, or defunct, but still live accounts. If you have 40 employees, you pay for 40. That's it!
I also have extra domains! A .org, a .net, and a few others too. Do I get charged for those?
Nope. As long as it's reasonable. If you tell us you've got 2 users and 1000 domains, we're going to have to talk. But we don't charge you more for the standard situation of having several domains all managed by one mail server.
What steps are involved in setting up MailRoute?
Setting up MailRoute is very simple. Sign up, and give us your contact info, and tell us the domain you wish to protect, and the name or IP address of the email server that should receive the clean, filtered email. We'll set it up on our end, verify the connectivity to make sure everything looks okay. Then we will email you with instructions on how to change the MX records for the domain. Once these steps are complete, your email will start being filtered by MailRoute.
What is the Annual Prepayment option?
If you know you want to stay for a year, you can choose an annual prepayment option, and we'll give you a 10% discount - it's like getting more than a month for free. You can choose this option at any time, it's not a one-time offer. We often have customers that start month-to-month, and then switch to the annual option to get the discount once they realize what we already know: MailRoute customers are happy, and stay for a long time.
Is there a long-term commitment?
The MailRoute service for businesses is month-to-month. There is no contract, and no long-term obligations. You will be billed each month for that months service. The Individual Account, for small users (less than 10 or so) is billed annually. Otherwise the billing surcharges would kill us!
How does the 15 day free trial work?
Once you've begun a MailRoute trial, we will watch your domain to see when you update your MX record per our emailed instructions. During your trial period, we will contact you to see if you have any questions, and to get your billing information. Once the 15 days is up, we will bill you for the service.
Only some of my users need spam filtering. Can I pay just for them?
When you change your MX record to point to us, all of your email flows through us, so every user in your domain is protected. You might want to disable spam filtering entirely for certain sensitive accounts, but we do still have to charge for those users. And besides, don't you really want everybody to be protected from viruses? One email virus to one of those users could really ruin your day.
I use Google Apps for my email. Do you work with them?
Yes, we do. We have quite a few users who like to use MailRoute in front of Google Apps to provide an extra level of filtering, including Leo Laporte and Tom Merritt of TWiT!.
